Privacy policy

Published · Updated

This notice describes the informational site at bgtol.sbs. It is written for readers, including people in the European Economic Area. It is not a description of BGToll or of any road-charging database. We never receive your plate from those systems, because we are not connected to them.

Who holds the data

The publisher is bgtol, Loven, Boulevard Simeonovsko Shose 4, 1700 Sofia, Bulgaria. For privacy requests, write to [email protected]. You may also write to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection if you think your rights have not been handled, and you may write to us first so we can respond.

What we process

  • If you email or call us, we process the address or number you used, and whatever you put in the message, so we can reply and keep a record of corrections or requests.
  • If you save a storage choice, the choice is kept in local storage in your browser under the key bgtol-consent. It is not sent to a bgtol server by the pages themselves. It is not an account.
  • The host that serves the site may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP address, time, and the address requested, for security and operation. Those logs are the host’s processing as well as ours where we determine the purpose.
  • We do not run a user account, a newsletter, or a payment form. We do not ask for a vehicle plate.

Why

Correspondence is handled so we can answer you and keep the publication accurate. The legal bases we rely on are the steps you ask us to take when you write, and our legitimate interest in responding and documenting a correction or a complaint. Storage of the cookie choice is a preference you set; essential storage is limited to remembering that choice. Advertising storage is optional and, in this version of the site, does not cause an advertising tag to load. See the cookie policy.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal information. We do not pass reader details to a vignette reseller. A hosting or email provider may process data on our instructions so the site and the mailboxes work. If a provider is outside the European Economic Area, we use a provider that offers a lawful transfer tool, or we avoid that transfer. This version of the site does not embed advertising or analytics tags, so those companies do not receive a hit from these pages.

How long

Email is kept as long as the thread is needed for the correction, the request, or a dispute, and then deleted or reduced. Server logs follow the host’s ordinary retention, which we ask to be measured in weeks or months rather than years where we can set it. The consent record in your browser stays until you clear site data or change the choice.

Your rights

Where the law applies, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of information you gave us, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw a consent choice in the without affecting a choice already acted on. Write to [email protected]. We may need enough detail to find the right thread and to be sure we are writing to the right person. The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

What an email contains

Write to us and you create the file. Browsing does not.

Opening a guide does not ask for your name, your plate, or an account. The choice about storage on this device, if you make one, sits in the browser under the key described in the cookie policy. Server logs, if the host keeps them, are the ordinary technical record of a request: address, time, the page, the user agent. They are not a customer database, because there are no customers.

If you email [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected], the message contains whatever you put in it. Do not send a scan of a licence, a card number, or a plate photograph. We do not need them to correct a sentence or to answer a privacy question, and we do not want them. A privacy request should describe the data and what you want done with it. We will say if we do not hold it. A toll account or a vignette record is the usual example of something we do not hold.

We do not sell lists, because we do not build them. We do not use the publication as a place to collect leads for another company. Advertising storage, if you allow it later, is a separate switch and is off unless you turn it on. The current pages do not load an advertising tag even then; the switch exists so a later change would have a place to look. That architecture is described in the cookie policy, not as a claim that a tag is present today.

To reach the publisher about any of this: [email protected], or the postal address Loven, Boulevard Simeonovsko Shose 4, 1700 Sofia, Bulgaria. The phone +359 879 201 010 is the same organisation. None of those channels is a portal into a government register.
